Europe Part 5 - Zurich, Lucerne, and Interlaken - Switzerland

Enter Switzerland!

On the train from Autria to Switzerland.

Ah, we must be in Switzerland now.

We took many pictures from the train.

Switzerland has the most beautiful lakes surrounded by towering alpen peaks.

We took a short stop in Zurich to just walk around for an hour or so.

Swiss churches have a very different archeture inside.

Lucerne has a really cool covered bridge across the river.

On the bridge

From Interlaken, we took the Jungfraubahn up to the top of the Jungfrau...what an incredible experience. We took a cog wheel train the whole way up. The coolest thing is that there are ski resorts that the train cruises on through. We took pictures of skiers shoooshing on by.

We had to switch trains a couple of times on the way up. One of these mountains is called Schreck mountain.

This is at the last stop before the top.

There goes the train up through the mountain.

There's the skiers crusing by the train.

At the top of Europe! What an incredible glacier below!

Mr. and Mrs. K at the top!

There are ice caves up at the top.

This was the view from our picnic site.

We went down the Jungfrau another way through Wengen. This town is really awesome! If we can ever afford it, this would be a sweet place place for Christmas.

The view from Wengen.

This is the Rugenpark hotel in Interlaken. We really enjoyed the hotel and Interlaken. The last night we were there, we celebrated with real Swiss cheese fondue. It was tasty and a very fun experience.
